Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service!!! Do NOT go to this location avoid it like the plague. Bald manager with beard is terrible at customer service. I scheduled a 26' moving truck for three days. I called a few days before picking up and changed rental period to ten days. When I went to pick up my rental the manager tried acting as if I was there for a 20' truck. I said, no a 26' truck. He told me it was broken and that he had a 20' truck. I told him, I am loading my house onto a truck and parking it for a week until I close on my new house. He told me that there was a 26' truck at another location 12 minutes away, I checked GPS, it was half an hour away (12 miles away). I asked about getting a $50 credit for U-haul not having my truck and he said he has a 20' truck and pretended not to understand that this is a thing on their website and a big poster inside every other U-haul store, I also asked if I would be credited for the additional mileage and gas to drive 24 miles round trip out of my way, he said they would take care of me at the other location. The other location actually had a nice guy working the counter who gave me $126 credit off of the bill and I happily went on my way. I go to drop the truck off 10 days later at the original location and the jerk of a u-haul manager is there and right away is telling me I dropped off the truck late and owe additional money $225 more!!! I explained to him that the nice guy at the other u-haul cut me a break for the inconvenience of not having my equipment (automatic $50 credit), time, gas, and mileage having to drive to other location. Needless to say this jerk at Glenside U-haul , refused to acknowledge any of this ever transpired and insisted I owed $225 and refused to do anything about it other than repeat himself and or walk away from counter for periods of time. Eventually he told me he would hold the contract for 24 hours while I tried getting help from someone else at another location since he was unwilling to do anything at all. I called the u-haul location in Colmar where I picked up the truck and after a half hour hold explained the situation and was told that they would have their manager file a formal objection and I should hear something in a week or two. About a week later I got an email from u-haul showing a large credit and a rental tax fee of $4.95 charged to me card listed. Lesson learned NEVER go to U-haul of Glenside! And never accept additional charges at time of drop off!
Crooks. Charged for a "dent" and a"ding" that were not pointed out at walk around inspection of vehicle after return. Not to mention that this would have been covered by the Damage Waiver I purchased. UHaul will not respond to your complaints either. Don't patronize these crooks.
U-Haul does its thing. This place has really considerate staff, but they are often a bit busy and it can take a moment for them to get to you. Have some patience.
It seemed to me they didn't want my business, that I was wasting their time went to have propane tank filled . Ended up giving my business to Lowe's
This was a miserable experience with U-Haul and especially this location U-Haul of Glenside. First, my U-Haul wasn't available for pick up at the scheduled location so I had to drive 30 miles to another location and pay a toll to pick up the truck. Upon dropping it off at Glenside U-Haul, they charged me a $50 dollar cleaning fee and a $9 fuel fee. First, there was absolutely nothing left in the truck except the U-Haul moving pads I rented and the plastic bag the moving pads came in. I rode in the truck for maybe 2 hours; I didn't eat or drink anything while in the truck. There was no leftover furniture or garbage. It was 100% a fraudulent charge by this U-Haul location. Second, I filled up the fuel to the level it was when I picked it up at the location. There was a gas station directly across the street from U-Haul Glenside. I filled it up, crossed the street, and dropped it off. Both the cleaning fee and the fuel fee were completely fraudulent charges by U-Haul Glenside. I immediately contacted customer service. The manager of the store is supposed to call me back tomorrow. Do not go to this location. I will look elsewhere than U-Haul for my moving needs and surely will never use U-Haul of Glenside again.
